Commissioning From Us vs. An Etsy Or Marketplace Seller

There are excellent independent silversmiths on marketplaces and we are not going to insult them. There are also resellers dropshipping castings they have never touched, and telling the two apart before you pay is the actual problem.

Hand-poured to order in 4–8 weeks. Shipped fully insured, in a presentation box.

The honest verdict

Marketplaces win on price and on variety, and the variety point is the serious one — you can find a maker whose style fits your idea exactly, and we only have our style. A good independent silversmith on Etsy will do beautiful work for less than we charge. The risk is not the good ones, it is that the listing for a genuine silversmith and the listing for a dropshipper look nearly identical. If you buy there, ask to see work in progress. If you would rather skip that step, that is what you are paying us for.

Solid Silver vs. Resin Collectible Statues

This is the real fight. At $199 to $900 the obvious alternative is a large, well-painted resin statue from a collectibles brand — and for some buyers that is genuinely the better object.

Solid Silver vs. An Engraved Plaque Or Trophy

For retirements, coaches and long service, the plaque is the default. It is fast, cheap, and it says exactly the right words. It also has a well-documented tendency to end up in a garage.

A Silver Statue vs. A Silver Bar Or Coin

Same metal, same .999 grade, and a bar is meaningfully cheaper per ounce. If you are buying metal, buy the bar. If you are buying a gift, this comparison is worth two minutes.

You have the photograph. The whole personalised gifting industry exists to put it on something. The question is what that something is, and how long it survives.

Important information

Metal & Purity Guarantee — .999 Fine Silver

  • Every statue is hand-poured in the USA from recycled precious metal, refined to .999 before it is cast.
  • The stated weight is the delivered weight of the piece.
  • Purity is .999 fine silver, verified by X-ray testing before shipment.
  • There is one grade — .999 — on every statue, in every size. Sterling (.925) is no longer offered.

Handmade Variation

As with all handmade and small-batch production, natural variation is inherent and unavoidable — it is a defining attribute of artisanal craftsmanship rather than a defect. Because of metal casting, material flow, finishing tolerances and the complexity of sculpted forms, the final piece may vary from the imagery shown. Images are visual references and are not guaranteed representations. Minor variance in surface and finish is expected and acceptable. Customers seeking absolute uniformity, mass-production tolerances, or exact replication of a digital rendering should not order.
